There used to be a time when one could put a hundred thousand pages up and that were scraped from other sites automatically and get a millions dollar checks monthly. Those times are long gone now. Google is getting smarter by the minute, changing their algorithm, and making so many adjustments that a lot of marketers just give up on trying to keep and simply just do what they think still works. This is good from one stand point – as the Internet becomes a better place for everyone but spammers, but some changes Google makes make it more difficult for the marketers also.

Not everyone is a spammer, but is treated the same by Google. The real key that seems to only work now (has always being important but never this vital) is to have a regular freash content added to Your site. And by regular I mean at least 2 times a day. And the fact that it is fresh means it cannot be done by any software, and, in fact, spinning articles will most likely die out soon, as Google raises their bar for the % of uniqueness that has to be within them to count them as unique.

There are a lot of websites and templates that are being sold by marketing “geniuses” that promise big bucks and lot's of traffic from them. They try to add syndication content from rss feeds etc. and promise that it works. Well, it does not! Not any more. Now a days it seems only viable to hire ghost writers or permanent staff who will add the content manually, full stop. And it does not matter how many pages You are adding every day – if they are not unique, You are not going to get much traffic for them. There are so many article directories now that just scrape content from each other, and even more rss fed sites that only pollute the Internet, that it is impossible for Google to rank all those even if it wanted to, and there is no point. They are spammy and they should be treated as SPAM – i.e. Ignored!

Recap:

Create fully developed sites with fresh content – that will get You ranked.

Add an rss feed to Your site.

Do not try to full Google, or You will be sorry that You did.

Maintain a good relationship to gain good PR & don't use the spammy strategy – i.e. “the more inbound links I get, the better I will be and the easiest way is to spam” kind of thing – it won't get You far.
